[[김치|Kimchi]] is a quintessential Korean fermented food and one of the “[[광주5미|Gwangju’s Five Delicacies]]” selected by Gwangju Metropolitan City. The Jeolla-do region is especially famous for kimchi varieties that reflect local character, such as [[고들빼기김치|<i>godeulppaegi kimchi<i> (Korean bitter green kimchi)]] and [[솔지|<i>solji</i> (chive kimchi)]].
